Id love to see an expanded re-imagining of. While it still is a great experience thanks to the atmosphere and all that, you cant help but feel its lacking compared to all the other DMC games (save for DMC2 lol). Plus, there has been plenty of evidence that a brand new Devil May Cry game is in the works, and it's certainly possible that instead of Devil May Cry 5, it is a full-scale remake of the first game. DMC1 is a classic and more than deserving of a proper remake that adds all the elements of the modern DMC games. I would love to see a modernized control scheme, refreshed UI (let's face it, the HUD and menus in the original DMC looked like the album booklet from a CrazyTown CD), a level select menu, and possibly some new Devil Arms or even a style select system. While this is likely just Kamiya teasing fans, it could be an indication that a remake of Devil May Cry is already in the works in some capacity.Īfter all, Kamiya teased last month that he was visiting Capcom, and we know that there have been talks about a possible collaboration between the Devil May Cry publisher and Platinum Games in the past. Just imagine a faithful, ground-up remake of the first Devil May Cry in the RE engine. The reason for making this is probably that I matched my character with a set of red and black clothes, and then always felt that it was too bad with the skill VFX style, so I made a set of mod.
Kamiya made this claim on Twitter, and even asked Capcom if it liked the idea. Now Kamiya has spoken out about the series yet again, this time claiming that if the first game were to be remade, he could make it the "most amazing hack & slash ever."

Earlier this year, he suggested that the series could do with a full model change, and suggested that Devil May Cry 5 could be a realistic, cinematic action game instead of an anime-style hack 'n slash.
Current Platinum Games developer and Devil May Cry series creator Hideki Kamiya has not been shy about sharing his opinions on the franchise.
